Interior Design - AIDXX

Introduction:

This course is designed for students who wish to develop skills in Interior Design. It aims familiarise students with the Interior Design industry and work environment and prepare them for the whole world of work. The FÁS ‘Safe Pass’ legal requirement will form an optional part of the course. The course is linked to third level institutes for students who wish to pursue further/higher education.

Entry Requirements:

Applicants should have the Leaving Certificate or equivalent, references and attend for an interview.

Career Opportunities:

Providing advice to new and existing property owners/developers on fittings, fixtures, layouts and finishes. Interior Design retail outlets in Furniture, Tiling, Painting and Decorating. , Acquiring work experience and job opportunities with established Interior Designers / Practices / Auctioneering Firms / Retail Sales etc.

Work Experience:

One day a week will be spent on work experience. This will introduce students to employment in their chosen areas and enable them to form links with local industry.

Course Fees:

A €150 registration fee applies.

Certification:

Students who complete the course successfully qualify for:

• A FETAC (Level 5) award in Interior Design – AIDXX
• A College Certificate
