Introduction:This course aims to provide the student with the knowledge and understanding of the philosophy and the educational methodologies used in the study of Montessori. This course aims to meet the necessary requirements of childcare supervisors and managers in relation to current childcare legislation and child protection legislation, as well as developing the skills and the expertise required to work at managerial level in childcare. Entry Requirements:A FETAC Level 5 Award Career Opportunities:Successful candidates will have the necessary skills to supervise and manage in the childcare field. This is a growing market, which can provide a wealth of opportunity for suitably trained candidates. Work Experience:Consists of a two day a week practical work experience in a childcare setting. Garda Vetting:Satisfactory Garda Vetting is a mandatory part of completing registration for this programme. Failure to obtain satisfactory Garda Vetting may result in de-registration. Progression to Third Level Art Colleges:Students who achieve a full FETAC Level 6 Childcare Supervisor Certificate may apply for entry into Year 2 in the Early Childhood Education (Hons) Degree at the Institute of Technology Tralee.
